INTRODUCTION
The
Fairy Queen comes out of the Treasure Chest of the Indian Railways.
It was in the year 1855, when the majestic Fairy Queen rolled
out for the East Indian Railway. The engine, is probably the oldest
working engine in the world. After over 142 years, the Fairy Queen
rolled again on 1st February 1997 from Delhi. Finding its pride
place in the Guinness Book of World Records and also National
Tourism Award winner (1997 - 1998) this prestigious pristine beauty
graces the National Rail Museum, New Delhi.
The
Train consists of just one First Class Chair Car and a pantry
car, all majestically hauled by the fabled Fairy Queen.
The
Queen takes 50 discerning passengers, from around the world, on
unforgettable two day weekend trips from Delhi to Alwar on selected
days. From there, a short drive will take them to tiger country
and an overnight stay at Sariska. The two-day package includes
a night's stay at the Sariska (near Alwar) from where the tourists
are taken around the Sariska Tiger Sanctuary. And yes the night
stay at Sariska is full of entertainment, theme dinner with ethnic
artists performing for you exclusively.
