1. How can I book a tour to India? Is there a list of tours I can choose from?
Ans. After deciding your travel dates, you can select from our various tours packages like Discover India tours, Culture & Heritage tours, Wildlife tours, Pilgrimage tours, Beach resorts, Hill Station tours etc. and you can buy them on as it is basis. If however, you feel that these tours need to be fine-tuned to coincide with your flight schedule, and if you need to add or reduce a night in any city, then you must send us your request and our travel experts will get back to you shortly with necessary changes and the amended tour cost.
   
2. What If I do not like any of the tours listed on the site? Can Travelite India Make a Tailor made tour for me?
Ans. If you do not like the mentioned tour packages, we suggest you send us a mail giving your requirements like the date of travel, which category of hotels you are looking for to suit your budget, how many members are supposed to travel along with you, the name of cities or destinations like North India, South India or Nepal, Bhutan etc. As soon as we have these details from your end, we will design a tour especially for you and get back immediately. These details serve as an outline for our travel experts, who are working here round-the-clock to make a tailor-made tour for you.
   
3. Or why can`t I do these trips on my own and (presumably) save money?
Ans.

One can often do our tours on his own if he has large quantities of time, patience, money and willing to forgo some safety measures.

Time: Rustling up a permit to cross a border, finding suitable transport or buying train or Air tickets.
Patience: One should have time to burn but a seasoned traveler would know, it can take hours and days of waiting in line, dealing with bureaucrats and triplicate forms, trying to get a taxi to the third office in a row that will send you to the fourth.

5. How long have you been in business and how many clients travel with you each year?
Ans. During our more than 25 years of operation, we have become one of the leaders in India. Last year more than 4000 people travelled with us.
   
6. Do you include travel Insurance?
Ans. We advise you to arrange travel insurance in your country. For more details check out our Terms & Conditions section.
   
7. How do we settle the payment? Is there an advance deposit required?
Ans. We insist on a nominal deposit of US$100 or a 10% of the total tour cost (whichever is more) to be sent to us as soon as the itinerary and the price has been finalised. This is an authorisation for us to go ahead with the reservations. A lot of time we need to shell out money to block rooms in small hotels which do not entertain travel agents, to buy train tickets, to pay advance to certain rural hotel or beach resort during peak time etc. The balance however can be settled one month prior to your arrival in India. The money can be paid by the payment gateway on the site, or through credit card, through a wire transfer to our Bank Account. More details in our Terms & Conditions section.
   
8. Is the information I give on the net safe?
Ans. Any correspondence exchanged between you and Travelite India will be kept confidential and not out-sourced to any third party under any circumstances. The credit card details you provide are safe since our Payment Gateway is approved by VERISIGN. Moreover your profile (name, Email ID, address, Telephone number) will be used only to communicate with you in regards to the services you are buying or availing. At no time will this profile be misused.
   
9. Where can I apply for an Indian Visa?
Ans. You are requested to get in touch with the nearest Indian Embassy/Commission who will appraise you with the other formalities required. For more details check out our Travel Information section.
   
10. Where do I get General Information on India?
Ans. Plenty of information is covered under the INDIA GUIDE section of our website. This includes maps, city contents, general information, weather, fairs & festivals, travel tips. If some information you want is still missing then do give us your feedback so that we can try and include it in our database.
   
11. What are the cancellation policies?
Ans. Please see the Cancellation policies in our Terms & Conditions section. Still if there is any clarification, you can contact us. There are few hotels who normally ask for non refundable deposit at the time of booking for example - hotels in Goa during peak period, Bangaram Island Resort in Lakshadweep, hotels in Buddhist sector and wildlife resort etc. Therefore you are requested to please check with us regarding the refund policy for the above mentioned hotels. No cancellation shall apply on Domestic airfares in case the tickets are booked by us.
