Royal Rajasthan On Wheels
 
Day 01: Sunday Train Departs at 06:00pm
NEW DELHI: Delhi is the capital city of modern , a city known for its rich valorous and exotic history. The tour starts in the evening with a ceremonial welcome aboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels at Safdarjung New Delhi. You will be treated like Maharaja & Maharani on welcome by garlanding, tikka and turban ceremony with a welcome glass of wine. You will be introduced to your fellow travellers. Feel free to explore your new palace, and acquaint yourself with its various facilities. Relax with a drink at the bar. Dinner will be served on board.
Day 02: Monday Arrival 03.45 Hrs - Departure 23.30 Hrs
JAIPUR: The first stop of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of India. This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727 A.D. To explore the city, an air-conditioned coach takes you to Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storied building along the main street of the old city in pink splendor with semi-octagonal and delicate honey-combed sandstone windows. This is followed by a visit to the City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family. Right across the road from the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh II.

Enjoy lunch at Amber Fort, followed by an elephant ride to ascend up the fort. Amber fort is a fine example of splendid fusion of Rajput and Mugal style of architecture. You also get an opportunity to shop for Jaipur’s famous gems and jewellery, handicrafts, carpets, blue pottery and block printed textiles.

Return back to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for a short nap and to freshen up. This evening, enjoy bar-be-que dinner with folk entertainment at Jai Mahal Palace, one of the most splendid 5* palace hotels of Jaipur. After dinner, return back on board Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.
Day 03: Tuesday Arrival 05:30 Hrs - Departure 10.30 Hrs

SAWAI MADHOPUR: One can almost sense a life of the wilderness, as the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After breakfast, enjoy a wildlife safari into the Ranthambore National Park, spread around the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be one of India’s best for observing and photographing tigers in the wild. The park, covering an area of 392 sq. kms is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, deer, jackal and fox are among popular wildlife found here. Upon return to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, you leave for Chittaurgarh, enroute getting an opportunity to watch the colourful countryside passing by.

CHITTAURGARH: Arrival 16.00 Hrs – Departure 02.00 Hrs: After lunch on board you arrive Chittaurgarh, where you visit the massive Chittaurgarh fort. Images of love and velour; scars of battles lost and won; thrice-besieged Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more. Enjoy a sound and light show at the fort, followed by bar-be-que dinner with cultural entertainment at a hotel. After dinner, return back on board Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.

Day 04: Wednesday Arrival 08:30 Hrs – Departure 15:30 Hrs
UDAIPUR: This morning, arrive Udaipur, the land founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven away by the Mughal’s, in 1559A.D. Spend the day in Udaipur, popular as the lake city of Rajasthan. Enjoy breakfast at Shikar Bari – an erstwhile hunting lodge of the Mewar rulers. Perhaps the two most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble Palaces - the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola.

Enjoy lunch at an open air restaurant with splendid views of Lake Palace, Jagmandir and Lake Pichola. After lunch, enjoy an exhilarating visit to the famous City Palace.

Later, visit the crystal gallery, displaying a magnificent collection of crystal glass furniture, crockery, chandeliers belonging to the erstwhile rulers. This evening, enjoy a boat ride on the serene Lake Pichola, before heading back to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for your onward journey to Jaisalmer.
Day 05: Thursday Arrival 09:15 Hrs - Departure 23:45 Hrs
JAISALMER: In the heart of the Thar Desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-Haveli, Patwon-ki-Haveli and Salim Singh-ki-Haveli are fine examples of the stone carver’s skills. You also get time to shop for fine pattu shawls, mirror work, embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets and Rajasthani silver jewellery. Enjoy lunch at a hotel in Jaisalmer.

This evening, enjoy an exciting camel ride into the sand dunes, before sipping a refreshing cup of chai. Enjoy dinner and cultural programs at a hotel in Jaisalmer. The train leaves for Jodhpur at night.
Day 06: Friday Arrival 07.00 Hrs - Departure15.30 Hrs
JODHPUR: This morning the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within - Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex stands the Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble. While in Jodhpur shop for the exquisite handcrafted articles including the famous breeches, embroidered shoes, metal curios, silverware, paintings and tie and dye fabrics.

Enjoy lunch at Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the finest and largest palaces of the world. Maharaja Umaid Singh utilized the services of a well known Edwardian architect, Henry Vaughan Lanchester, for the construction of this palace. There are 347 rooms in the palace that boast about its grandness and splendor the central dome that has become the identity of the palace 110 feet high. The royal family still lives in a part of the palace. After lunch, return back to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. Dinner on board.
Day 07: Saturday Arrival 05:00Hrs - Departure 08:45 Hrs
BHARATPUR: Early this morning, the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal. Enjoy breakfast at the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, followed by a tour of this nesting place of thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.

AGRA: Arrival 10:30 Hrs - Departure 23.00
This afternoon, visit Fatehpur Sikri - the red sandstone Mughal palatial complex. Within the enclosure is a mosque built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and dedicated to the Sheikh Salim Chisti, a Muslim Sufi Saint who blessed Emperor Akbar with a son. After lunch, enjoy a visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world and a pristine monument of eternal love. Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.

Agra is known for its splendid marble inlay work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and jewelry. This evening, you have some time to shop around in Agra, before enjoying a cultural program followed by dinner at a 5* hotel. After dinner, board the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels for your return journey to New Delhi.
Day 08: Sunday Arrival 06.00 Hrs
NEW DELHI: Arrive New Delhi at 6.00 Hrs this morning and bid farewell to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels.
About the Train

Coaches:
The 13 deluxe coaches have been rightly named after the famous palaces of Rajasthan, namely, Hawa Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Surya Mahal, Moti Mahal, Sukh Mahal, Jal Mahal, Padmini Mahal, Kishori Mahal, Phool Mahal, Jogi Mahal, Kumbha Palace, Umaid Palace, Lalgarh Palace. The Super-Deluxe coach is Taj Mahal.

Rooms:
The Train has two categories of cabins:
Super Deluxe Saloon: These suites have been named after the two precious stones, Emerald and Diamond. The bed in the cabin is large and comfortable with colour-coordinated draperies. Sofachairs and writing table have been provided to make your stay more comfortable. The exquisite silk and velvet bedspreads and draperies take you to the era of munificent living. The finely carved wooden furniture in the super-deluxe suite adds to your experience.
Deluxe Saloon: These saloons have been created in three different themes in hues of exquisite jewels, Ruby, Sapphire and Pearl. The saloon has been designed to live up to the grandeur of contemporary princely living with elegant silk furnishings for a befitting aesthetic appeal. These saloons have been thematically designed with co-ordinated colour schemes and textures to augment their splendour

Restaurants:
Sheesh Mahal and Swarn Mahal, the two Restro-Bars on the Royal Train provide mouth-watering delicacies from Rajasthani, Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisines. Sheesh Mahal has been adorned with splendid floor lamps and crystal pelmets; the entire restro-bar is made of wood and crystal. The Swarn Mahal, has been planned around a theme of gold and brass. Dinning at both the restro-bars will add to your pleasure. Amidst aesthetic splendour, feast on your delicious meal with customised hand-made cutlery and specially designed crockery.

Bar:
The two restro-bars Sheesh Mahal and Swarn Mahal on the Royal Train have the finest wines and an array of international brands of liquor. The fully equipped bar on the train serves selected brands on Aperitif, Malt, Whisky, Scotch, Rum, Vodka, Cognac, Wines and Champagne.

Facilities:
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels is Wi-Fi enabled and has a Business Center, Board Room and Fitness Center. The windows in the Royal Train are the largest in any train running on tracks in India and have been made especially for enjoying the visual treat on your royal escapade. The super deluxe saloons have an individual temperature control facility. Other facilities include a channel music system and public address system, laundry service onboard, a separate safe in each cabin, mailbox etc.
